Begin by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easier cleanup.
In a spacious mixing bowl, thoroughly combine the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, sriracha sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ground ginger, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix these ingredients well to form a flavorful marinade.
Next, introduce the chicken wings into the bowl with the marinade, ensuring each wing is generously coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid and let the wings marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. For a deeper flavor, you can marinate them for up to 2 hours.
After marinating, arrange the wings in a single layer on your prepared baking sheet, making sure they are well spaced. Set aside any remaining marinade for basting later.
Bake the wings in the preheated oven for approximately 25-30 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time. During the last 10 minutes of baking, baste the wings with the reserved marinade to enhance their flavor.
For an added touch of crispiness, switch your oven to broil and broil the wings on high for an extra 2-3 minutes. Keep a close eye on them to prevent burning.
Once cooked, remove the wings from the oven and allow them to rest for a few minutes. Before serving, sprinkle sesame seeds and sliced green onions generously over the wings for a finishing touch.
Notes
Serve with extra honey and crunchy raw vegetables for a refreshing contrast.
